This is the Pitman schedule: consists of a 2-week cycle where each team works 2 consecutive shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 3 consecutive shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 2 consecutive shifts, followed by 3 days off duty. Rad tech will get 36 hours one week and 48 the next.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

· Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.

· Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.

· Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.

· Positioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.

· Limiting patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.

· Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.

· Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.

· Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.

· Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.

· Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

Technician Requirements:

· Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.

· Appropriate state licensure.

  • Record a patient’s medical history accurately
  • Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
  • Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
  • Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
  • Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
  • Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
  • Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
  • Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

Need Specifics: The position is for an X-ray tech for the Cath lab. They don’t have to know how to scrub, but it is definitely a plus. During the procedure they would be x-raying and circulating. We have 2 cath lab procedure rooms. Our volume fluctuates- some days we have 0-1 cases, some days we have 5-6. As of right now the call requirement will be 50%. We need someone at least 13 weeks. Our hours are 7-1530 M-F.
