Duties :
1. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
2. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to
anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
3. Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between
normal and pathologic findings
4. Analyses; sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates
findings to the appropriate physician
5. Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure
workload coverage
6. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in
the sonographer’s care
7. Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
8. Maintains a daily log of patients seen/completes exam billing forms
9. Participates in the maintenance of laboratory accreditation
10. Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating
hospitals, referral or commercial agencies
11. Performs other work-related duties as assigned
12. Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician
Qualifications
· License: ARDMS
· Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology
Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP) preferred
as appropriate
· Current BLS

General Duties and Responsibilities:
· Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
· Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
· Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.
· Positioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
· Limiting patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
· Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
· Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.
· Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.
· Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
· Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.
Technician Requirements:
· Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
· Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
· Appropriate state licensure.
· Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
· Ability to move or lift patients.
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· A patient and compassionate disposition.

· Implements appropriate nursing activities to provide safe and individualized nursing care
· Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care by documenting patient’s responses to interventions
· Assists in explaining the physician’s post-operative instructions to patient/family
· Conveys ideas, concepts, and facts related to patient care in a logical, concise manner
· Assists with discharge activities according to policies and procedures
· Documents information accurately and according to policies and procedures
· Applies technical and specialized skills relevant to pre-/post-operative nursing
· Performs nursing functions (e.g., monitors vital signs, maintains/improves respiratory function, performs catheterizations, etc.) under Registered Nurse direction/supervision and within the state-specific scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurse.**
· Administers prescribed medication and performs treatments according to the state’s definition of Licensed Practical Nurse practice.**
· Observes safety measures in patient-care activities
· Prepares equipment/supplies needed for care of patients and for performing diagnostic tests
· Demonstrates competence in emergency situations
· Recognizes personal limitations and obtains necessary patient-care assistance from Registered Nurse

This is the Pitman schedule: consists of a 2-week cycle where each team works 2 consecutive shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 3 consecutive shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 2 consecutive shifts, followed by 3 days off duty. Rad tech will get 36 hours one week and 48 the next.
General Duties and Responsibilities:

· Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
· Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.

· Limiting patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
· Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.

· Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
· Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.
Technician Requirements:
· Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
· Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
· Appropriate state licensure.
· Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
· Ability to move or lift patients.
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
