For Paramedic Position:

We currently have a need for 2 Paramedics for FCI Big Spring in TX. The position is 40 hours per week and requires for the candidates to have the following.

It is a low security correctional institute for male inmates. The schedule is M-F 8 hours per day (excluding holidays), which could fall within the hours of 6am-2:30pm.

Contract length : 13 weeks or extensions

As Employee Status (W-2):

• $23/Hr

• Health, Short Term Disability & Life Insurances

• 10 Holidays

• 5 Sick Days

• 10 Vacation Days

As Independent Consultant Status (1099): $28.00/HR

Nationally Registered Emergency Technician-Paramedics (EMT-P)

· Must have graduated from an accredited EMT-P school or program

· Current EMT-P certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)

· One year experience in a correctional facility preferred, but not required

· BLS

Labor and Delivery nurse that will assist in the ER or Med Surg when there are no laboring patients. They would go to LD unit if there was a laboring patient. The LD charge would be on the LD unit until a laboring patient was admitted, then go to the unit the traveler was working to cover for them.

7-7 Shifts.. 13 Bed ER.. EMT’s on floor.. 50-70 patients in a 24 hour period..

Nurse expectations and requirements:

Excellent attendance, Professional, positive attitude, respectful.

Provide quality patient care and follow all hospital policies and procedures 10% admit rate.

American Heart Association issued BLS and ACLS required..

Prefer NIH Stroke and PALS..

Must have at least 2 years of experience...

Aprox. 18,000 visits per year.
