Location: Harlem, MT (may travel to satellite clinic in Hays, MT on occasion, 30 minutes away)
Dates coverage is needed: asap – ongoing for 5 years however if you cannot commit to 5 years (we prefer at least 6 month min commitment)
Schedule/Shifts Times: Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8a – 5p (30 min unpaid lunch) (8 hour shift, no overtime
Patient Volume: 4-8 patients per day average
Patient Ages: all ages (80% Adults, 20% Children)
Types of Cases: general dentistry, complex procedures referred out
Support Staff: Harlem – 2 Dentists, 1 Hygienist, 2.5 DA’s Hays – 1 Dentist, 0 Hygienists, 1 DA.
Type of Charting: EMR – RPMS, CPRS
Credentialing Timeframe: 4-6 weeks on average
DUTIES:
- Makes clinical and radiographic examinations of the oral hard and soft tissues, and a diagnosis of pathological or irregular conditions that can be of greater than usual difficulty.
- Reviews patient medical history and chart for evidence of disease or abnormalities which could adversely affected by dental treatment that can be of greater than usual difficulty.
- Studies results of examination and determines types of services required and develops acceptable treatment plans that can be of greater than usual difficulty.
- Performs endodontic, prosthodontic, periodontics, pedodontics, operative, oral surgery and preventive orthodontic that can be of greater than usual difficulty.
- Performs removal of un-erupted and impacted teeth, residual root tips, localized foreign bodies from the gingival tissues and alveolar sockets.
- Performs prosthetic work involving complicating conditions such as lack of bone support for dentures, jaws which are irregularly formed, substantial changes in oral formation because of long years without teeth, and surgery on the bone and tissues in the supporting structure for the teeth.
- Performs root canal therapy on the anterior teeth of both children and adults, and muco-gingival surgery. Treats rampant caries in children, acute cellulitis associated with dental pathology. and diseases of salivary glands and their ducts. Applies corrective treatment in cases of abnormal formation, where proper occlusion is difficult to attain.
- Administers local anesthesia, often times on difficult patients.
- Informs the patient about good dental health practices.
- Provides dental care services to individuals eligible for services provided by the IHS in homes, schools, other community locations, and clinics in the Service Unit. Refers patients to appropriate contracted dental sources, such as other government facilities, or private practice.
- Works with other health professionals on IPC (Improving Patient Care) objectives of the Fort Belknap Service Unit.
- Meets all electronic health record completion time requirements.
- Actively participates in quality management continuous performance improvement, staff development, risk management. infection control, GPRA measures. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP), Meaningful Use. and safety activities.
- Works closely with the Chief Dental Officer, Clinical Director, and Administrative Officer to meet any objectives they may develop as a team.
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST BE AN AMERICAN CITIZEN
BLS (through American Heart), DEA (fee paid, schedules 2-5)
Credentialing Timeframe: 4-6 weeks on average
Additional Info: Must possess an ***ACTIVE Any State License ***

- At least two years' experience as a medical-surgical nurse in a similar facility.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems such as e-MDs Chart and Mediexcel.
- Extensive experience in monitoring a broad range of medical conditions.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in medical-surgical nursing.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Availability to work shifts that rotate between days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

- Passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)
- Active state license as a registered nurse
- 2 years of nursing experience in intensive care nursing positions
- Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certification
- CCRN Adult Certification

Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols. 2. Maintain proper quality control procedures. 3. Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment. 4. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public. 5. :General Duties and Responsibilities:
· Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
· Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
· Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.
· Positioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
· Limiting patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
· Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
· Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.

· Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
· Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.
:Technician Requirements:
· Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
· Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
· Appropriate licensure in any state.
· Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
· Ability to move or lift patients.
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

FTE Pharmacy Technician to the New Mexico VA Health Care System pharmacy as requested by each VISN 22 facility COR. Pharmacy services are operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year. Pharmacist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or pharmacology.
- BLS Certification
- Proven experience as a pharmacist.
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications, used by pharmacies, such as MEDITECH and Mediware.
- Great organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pharmacist Responsibilities:
- Compounding and dispensing medications, as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects.
- Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications.
- Conducting health and wellness screenings.
- Providing immunizations, and other medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
- Keeping accurate customer records.
- Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
- Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.

DUTIES:

Treat simple and complex cavities including pin retained amalgams and composite restorations, posts and cores. (Inlays and crowns require Central Office approval prior to applying).
Aid in ordering dental supplies.
Provide root canal therapy on anterior and posterior teeth
Perform simple and complex extractions, including surgical removal of tori and foreign bodies from dental tissue.
Institutes local and systematic therapy for chronic and acute oral infections.
Perform root planning, gingival curettage and mucogingival surgery.
Provide dental prosthesis/acrylic partial dentures, cast partial dentures, and full dentures.
Manage inmate patient requiring special consideration during dental treatment.
This includes inmates with asthma, emphysema, allergies, diabetes, hypertension, heart murmurs, pre and post (90-days) open heart surgery, and behavioral inmates undergoing psychiatric care
