Medical Technologist Duties :

· Cross-matching blood for transfusions
· Chemically analyzing blood or urine for toxic components
· Analyzing lab reports for accuracy
· Operating and calibrating equipment
· Delivering test results to physicians, researchers or patients
· Collecting and studying blood samples to determine morphology
· Communicating with doctors and other medical professionals about required tests
· Performing blood tests and other routine medical tests on patients
· In cases of patient contact, performing first aid as needed

Need Specifics: Need 2 "stork" nurses: able to attend deliveries and provide neonatal care for the first 2 hours and is also able to take NICU patients as needed. So essentially NICU experience + comfortable attending deliveries to "catch" babies.. Level 2 nursery
Needed items for submission:

· Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive nursing assessments of newborns
· Develop a plan of care, monitor the effectiveness of the care plan, and adjust where necessary
· Monitor the health of infants suffering from medical issues
· Attend and assist high-risk births
· Perform tests and evaluate test results
· Provide treatment and administer medication as advised by NICU physicians
· Run and maintain equipment in the NICU
· Document patient history
Qualifications:
· Effective planning, time management, organization, and coordination skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with other professions in a team environment
· Strong knowledge of neonatal standards of care
· In-depth understanding of pre-term and full-term infant pathophysiology and the management of infants requiring acute care
· Strong observation skills for physical assessments, experience with added nursing skills (such as capillary blood work, IVs, suctioning of ETTs) being an asset
· Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
· Conscientious and reliable
· Proficient computer skills and accurate documentation of patients’ medical history

· Must check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
· Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge.

Pay: Starting @ $40.00 per hour; Depending on Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience in health care
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record patients’ medical records and monitor vital signs.
- Supervising nursing staff and monitoring their needs.
- Coordinating daily administrative duties, including schedules, nursing assignments, and patient care.
- Overseeing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Mentoring and training new staff and providing support and guidance to all staff members.
- Monitoring medical charts and providing compassionate care and assistance to patients and families.
- Liaising with doctors and administrators and communicating any protocol changes to staff.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Recording and maintaining accurate reports.
- Identifying issues or emergencies and responding in a calm and efficient manner.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE/REGISTRATION:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- Hold an ACTIVE American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification are required to be considered for this position.
